    At last I see and listen to Helen Vendler, whose commentaries on Shakespeare’s sonnets are among my most cherished books. What a treat!

    I grew up with a Helen Hennessy, who loved literature and read constantly.
    We lost touch when we moved away from Haileybury ON.  By any chance is Helen Vendler a Canadian who might have been my childhood friend.
